A Saturday

Yesterday was one amazing day. That’s all I can really say. Hanging out with some of my favorite people, seeing an amazing show, its hard to beat that.

Yesterday morning, Liz and I went to Nick and Bethany’s house in Champaign which was nice. I really like what they did with it. Very bold colors, really nice furniture, beautiful tile floor. Hard to beat. Liz and I drove back to Peoria (through some crazy weather), got some lunch, then it was time to go back to Chambana.

Jason, Kurt, Joy and I went to see Emery and Anberlin at the Canopy… Wow, I’ve never seen either band, and I wish I had earlier. They put on an amazing show. Really powerful stuff. Anberlin is great on their CDs, and their live show is really about 10 times more amazing. They just rock on stage.

Emery was even better. I’ve really gotten into them over the past year, and I can’t say enough about them. Sandy and I made our way to the front of the pit, and were pretty much smashed the whole time. Quite an amazing feeling. The only problem was that they seemed to play for such a short time. They were opening for Hawthorne Heights (meh), so they probably only played 30 to 35 minutes. But it seemed like they were only up there for about 10. Amazing.

On the way home, Kurt, Jason and I had a bit of a punk rock karaoke session. Hard to beat that. And when I got home, I got to hang out with Joe, Suan, and of course Liz.

Simply a great day.
